Maintenance Tips

Maintenance Tips

A Damascus steel knife with a Morta wood handle requires specific maintenance to preserve its edge and the beauty of its handle. Here are some tips:

Maintenance of the Damascus steel blade:

1. Cleaning after use: Wash the blade by hand with warm water and a little mild soap. Dry immediately with a clean cloth to avoid oxidation.

2. Avoid moisture: Damascus steel can rust, so avoid the dishwasher and storage in a humid environment.

3. Regular oiling: Apply a thin layer of food oil (camellia, linseed or olive oil) to protect the steel from oxidation.

Maintenance of the Morta wood handle:

1. Avoid water: Do not leave the handle soaking or under running water for too long, as this could weaken it.

2. Hydration: Apply linseed oil or beeswax from time to time to nourish the wood and prevent cracks.

3. Storage: Keep your knife in a dry place, ideally in a leather case or a knife block.

With this care, your Damascus knife with Morta handle will remain beautiful and efficient for years!
